FAQ: Membership

Is -OGz- currently recruiting?

We are always on the lookout for potential recruits.

How old is an Ole Geezer?

An Ole Geezer must be at least 30 years old or he is not an Ole Geezer

What does -OGz- as a clan offer me?

We are a well managed, well organized clan. We don’t waste time at practices, we are clear in our rules, and we can promise that we will make the absolute most out of your Battlefield leisure time. Individual skills competitions, and other competitions within -OGz- also make life exciting even away from the ladder matches. Lastly, -OGz- is truly a big family. We have a lot of fun, and feel very close to one another.

What does it take to get into -OGz-?

Honor, character, and maturity. Skill is important, but not nearly as important as those. Our experience is that someone who plays with honor and acts maturely will always improve in skill over time. Do you take the time to communicate strategy and in-game information to help your side win (even to pubbers you’ve never met), or are you only interested in your own kill count? Do you always go axis on Omaha, or do you like the challenge of the side with a disadvantage like Axis on Tobruk? Do you join the team with the least players or the most players? Do you congratulate strangers on their job well done, or do you remind others of how good you are? These are the questions we ask ourselves when we evaluate a new recruit. If you don’t know what answers we are looking for, then you don’t belong.

What is the process for getting in?

First, visit our server frequently. Hop on our TeamSpeak with us and chat. -OGz- members on the servers are constantly looking for potential recruits. If you are currently in another clan but considering us anyway, mention to the -OGz- members that you are interested, because otherwise we’d assume you are just hanging out on our server. We don’t recruit on a whim, and we don’t recruit after seeing somebody just once or twice. Time is the best judge of character, so be patient. We KNOW who the frequent visitors on our server are. Post on our Recruitment thread here: http://www.teamogz.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8. You will be contacted by our VIP coordinator who will give you information on us, when we practice, and help you get to know the guys.

What are we NOT looking for?

We are not just looking for raw talent. There are a lot of skilled players out there…a dime a dozen…but it doesn’t make up for poor character or poor sportsmanship. In game, if you respawn (then kill again), spawn camp, swear, accuse people of cheating, blame others for failure, spam the chat, TK, or ridicule others, it tells us that you are not a mature player who plays with sportsmanship. If you continuously ask us or harass us about recruiting, it tells us that you are not patient and we don’t want you. In others words, if you keep bugging us we’ll be turned off. If you have a chronic history of clan hopping, it tells us that you are a prima-donna and take more from a clan than you give…clan management is hard work and requires an investment…if you aren’t willing to roll with the bad times then we don’t want you. Lastly, kill counts don’t mean sh*t, so don’t brag to us about how you “owned” so-and-so.

How long does it usually take?

How long is a piece of string? It can take days or weeks, depending on -OGz-’s immediate recruitment needs and how quickly we can evaluate your character. Skill can be identified in about 5 seconds…determining someone’s level of honor or good character takes much longer.

What rank will I be if I get in?

Regardless of how good you are, or what position you had in another clan, ALL recruits start at Private.

I work funny hours and have a family…how do I know my schedule will work with -OGz- schedule?

We practice three times per week on Sunday at 8:00pm EST, Wednesday at 9:00pm EST, and Thursday at 8:00 pm EST. We are currently exploring our options for competition in CoD4.

What happens if I leave -OGz-?

If you leave -OGz- you will likely be missed. However, you give up a great group of guys who treat one another like family, and you will lose your privileges on our private forums and may lose them on our TeamSpeak and servers as well, depending on how your departure goes.
